Fujian province will lay down more measures and services for the army of college graduates in pursuit of jobs, fznews.com.cn reported, citing an official in the province’s human resource and social security department.
A record high 266,000 college graduates from Fujian are expected to enter the job market this year amid a downward economy.
About 248,000 college students from Fujian graduated last year, many of whom left Fujian for more economically-advantaged cities like Beijing, Shanghai and the provinces of Guangdong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu, figures show.
Of those who stayed in the province, 77 percent went to Fuzhou, Xiamen or Quanzhou, resulting in a labor shortage in other regions.
To keep talent in Fujian and achieve a more rational allocation of professionals, human resources organs at all levels will enhance their role by connecting job seekers with employers, providing vocational training and setting aside funds to encourage startup businesses.
