Six of the nine programs will be built in the Tannan Bay district, designated as part of the free trade zone (FTZ) in Fujian province. They include an amusement park (150 to 300 million yuan), an ocean park (10 billion yuan), an international sports training center (10 billion yuan), a horse-racing center (7 billion yuan), a Matsu park and a water sport club.
The other three are a maritime Silk Road museum (1 billion yuan), an archaeological park (2 billion yuan) and a coastal tourist town (8.2 billion).
Themed “integration, development and win-win cooperation”, the 11th STF kicked off in Xiamen city on April 8, highlighting cross-Straits rural tourism, cultural creation and innovation.
It held a roundtable conference inviting tourism authorities from 18 provinces on the mainland and 18 tourism associations from Taiwan to explore prospects for cooperation.
A total of 700 tourism projects are being promoted at the fair by participants from 26 provinces, metropolises and autonomous regions on the mainland who look to attract investments.
The Pingtan pavilion, with an area of 207 sq m, advocates low-carbon tourism while playing up marine tourism and introducing a number of favorable policies, as a free trade zone, to investors.
