The Chongqing-Changsha-Xiamen High-speed Railway will have its planning finished and its construction kicked off during the 2015-2020 period in Xiamen, according to information released from the Hefei-Fuzhou High-speed Railway Promotion Conference.
During the period, the Fujian government is expected to invest nearly RMB160 billion to build 1,374 kilometers of new railway lines. The Fuzhou-Pingtan railway, the Nanping-Sanming-Longyan railway, the Quzhou-Ningde railway, and the Ji'an-Yong'an-Quanzhou railway will be the key projects to be finished during the 2015-2020 period. Fujian is expected to have over 10 railway lines, with their total length reaching 5,350 kilometers and a road network density reaching 447.7 kilometers/10,000 square kilometers, by the end of 2020.
The Xiamen-Changsha section of the railway will have a length of 800 kilometers and will feature a passenger-dedicated line with a speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
