A delegation of 10 journalists from Indonesia paid a visit to the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) in Fujian province on May 29 to investigate its development, ptnet.cn reports.
The guests, all in charge of newspapers and magazine in mainstream media, took a tour of enterprises and key engineering projects and learned about preferential policies for overseas investors.
They were excited to hear about Pingtan's goal of becoming an international tourist resort, and asked if authorities are interested in cooperation with Indonesia in tourism.

Pingtan is positive in working with Indonesia in various areas, and welcomes experts and tourists from around the world to give their suggestions on improving its tourism service, said Lin Jiangling, deputy director of the PCPZ’s administration.
Journalists were optimistic about a closer bond between Pingtan and Indonesia, noting their geographic advantages as China is promoting cooperation along the modern Maritime Silk Road.

Director of Bali branch of The Indonesia News Agency: “Pingtan has a lot of potential. Its development will not only influence regions on the road and maritime silk roads, but also the whole world. I hope Pingtan can match and even surpass Bali. We will definitely promote Pingtan’s brand using after returning to Indonesia.”
Huang Jianhui, reporter of Qiandao Daily (a Chinese newspaper in Bali, Indonesia): “Pingtan has obvious regional advantages and is likely to become global hotspot for Taiwanese and overseas Chinese to come and invest.”
Liang Zhihai, editor of Bali Fengcai (a Chinese newspaper in Bali, Indonesia): I am looking forward to Pingtan and Indonesia sharing information to let more people learn about Pingtan. We also expect media from both sides to mutually open branches or push for academic programs.
