The 2015 Jinjiang Culture Industry Week and Internet Culture Festival opened on Sept 21, in the city of Jinjiang, in Fujian province, on the same day that Jinjiang's English website -- en.jinjiang.gov.cn – announced its opening. For the Sept 21-27 period, there will be 32 activities for cultural creativity, network animation, advertising, and folk culture.
Taking part in the opening ceremony were Lu Chengsheng, deputy head of the Fujian Publicity Department, Chen Qingzong, head of the Quanzhou Publicity Department, Liu Wenru, mayor of Jinjiang, and Jinjiang government officials.
Jinjiang considers the culture business very important for its heritage and development, in recent years, Liu told the ceremony gathering and said they will vigorously develop their cultural undertakings and industries for "effective protection, dynamic heritage, and upgrading".
To promote its cultural industries, the city government is setting up a fund of 50 million yuan ($7.83 million) to encourage culture workers and enterprises to use every opportunity they can to create their own products with their own artistic ideas and provide meaningful, marketable cultural services, for education, and to serve the community and promote development.
There was also a new "Pocket Jinjiang" App announced the same day, to help people in their daily lives in dealing with traffic problems or to pay fees and a ceremony for the special cultural fund that is expected to benefit 44 enterprises in Jinjiang.
