More than 552,700 entry-exit passengers traveled through Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport in 2015, reaching a new record in its history, according to local media Quanzhou Evening News.

The airport handled up to 32,687 aircraft movements in the whole year, and passenger numbers surged 30.6 percent to 3.63 million, the first time for the airport to exceed 3.6 million.

It is a new remarkable moment after it reached 2 million on Dec 5, 2012.

It now has 9 entry-exit routes to countries including Philippine, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Korea and regions including Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao. It can handle up to 124 domestic and international aircraft movements a week. The entry-exit aircraft movements make an average to 113.2 passengers each trip by far.

The airport has handled 19,100 entry-exit aircraft movements and 2.04 million entry-exit passengers since it officially put into service in 2009.

It has become Quanzhou’s golden passageway for outside travel and communication.
