Fuzhou railway station will witness its largest ever passenger flow during the upcoming Spring Festival, as the Hefei-Fuzhou high-speed railway and Ganruilong (Ganzhou-Ruijin-Longyan) railway opened to traffic in 2015.
Jan 24 marked the beginning of the 2016 Spring Festival travel rush and Fuzhou railway station handled 86,000 passengers, mostly migrant workers and students, on that day. The destinations were mainly Chongqing, Dazhou, Guiyang, Chengdu and Wuhan.
It's estimated that Fuzhou railway station will process 3 million passengers in total during the festival travel period. It will add trains to Dazhou, Chongqing, Guiyang, Wuhan, Taiyuan, Xiamen, Longyan and Mountain Wuyi.
All seat tickets to Chongqing, Dazhou, Guiyang, Nanchang, Taiyuan, Xi'an, Luoyang, Chongqing, Chengdu, Guiyang, Wuhan, Changsha, Zhengzhou and Yingtan have been sold out, but bullet tickets to Xiamen, Longyan, Nanping, Mountain Wuyi and Wenzhou are still available.
Between Feb 1 and 6, the peak time, an estimated 100,000 passengers per day will depart from the railway station. During the Spring Festival the station will increase the number of ticket offices and machines, with 18 offices and 16 self-service ticket machines to be added at peak time.
