Fuzhou's Wushan Primary School arranged a school yard get-together for its young students to showcase their talent to welcome the new year.
As a calligraphy and seal cutting education site, the school has made traditional culture and art the core of its extracurricular activities in last couple of years.
At the Dec 28 gathering, students and teachers offered performances, such as Peking Opera and poetry recitation. Young voices filled the school yard with elegant, resonating rhythms.
Other students performed a tea ceremony. There was also an area for playing Chinese chess, or Xiangqi, a strategy board game for two players similar to international chess.
