Primary school students in Quanzhou's Dehua county created 100 paper carving works to celebrate the Year of Rooster that will start on Jan 28.
Paper carving, similar to paper cutting in its applying a blade to paper, has a profound history in Dehua and represents a distinctive aspect of Quanzhou's traditional culture.

Dehua's young students have displayed their paper carving works adorned with the image of roosters to welcome in the upcoming Chinese New Year. They also chose to include porcelain kettles in their cuttings, the object stands as another famous Dehua product.
