Various regions in Fujian province took on an entirely new appearance as a strong cold front rolled in and had blanketed several areas in snow on Feb 8.

Given Fujian province lies in a subtropical zone, snow is a rather rare occurrence and locals were understandably excited when the precipitation fell at several high-elevation areas.

Many locals took the opportunity to explore scenic areas such as Shiniu Mountain in Quanzhou and Jinnao Mountain in Jianning county and appreciate snow and rimes, curious ice shapes that form when water supercools on objects.
