Pingtan has become a popular destination for shooting movies, TV series and reality shows in recent years. Teresa Teng is not the first TV drama to be shot in Pingtan: A TV adaptation of the popular Chinese novel Flower Blossoms on the Sea starring famous actors Shawn Dou and Li Qin finished shooting in the city just a month ago.
