The 11th Cross-Straits Tea Industry Exposition is scheduled to be held in Wuxyishan, a county-level city in Southeast China's Fujian province on Nov 16 to 18.

The expo shall have an exhibition area of 43,000 square meters with 1,230 booths. A wide category of products related to the tea industry ranging from tea leaves to tea sets will be on display.

More than 6,000 purchasers from across the world are confirmed to participate in the expo.

As one of its biggest highlights, this year's expo will set up a special Taiwan Pavilion and invite over 100 companies from the island to take part.

Visitors will be able to enjoy Taiwan ethnic performances while savoring premium tea and desserts from the mainland and Taiwan.

In addition to the expo itself, a dazzling array of activities such as a food expo, tea cultural festival and tea brewing contest shall be staged during the event.

According to Wu Bin, deputy mayor of Nanping municipal government, which administers Wuyishan, this year’s edition of the event shall also promote the in-depth integrated development of China’s tea and tourism industries.

Named after Wuyi Mountain, a UNESCO natural and cultural heritage site, Wuyishan is the cradle of many famous black teas.
