Zhangzhou Mountain Marathon, the fifth stop of the 2017 China Mountain Marathon Series, wrapped up in Zhangzhou, a coastal city in Southeast China's Fujian province on Nov 12.
This is the first time the coastal region has held these series of events. More than 3,000 runners from across the world participated in the event.
All the titles for the three different race ranges, 8, 21 and 42 kilometer respectively, were all taken by Chinese runners.
Guan Yousheng, winner of the man's 42 kilometer race, said that he was impressed with the city's beautiful seaside scenery and mild weather.
The 42-kilometer-race, which starts and ends at the Shuangyu Island Cross-sea Bridge, passes by many local attractions, including Nanpaotai Park, Longhu Valley and Xiamen University's Zhangzhou campus.
