A paper lantern set resembling a giant Chinese dragon illuminated the night sky of Pengfang village, Changting county, Fujian province Wednesday.
The tradition of cutting dragon lantern set out of paper has a history of more than 300 years in Pengfang. Each year, hundreds of villagers lift up the intricately designed lanterns, and circle an ancient street in the region to mark Lantern Festival.
Lantern Festival, which is usually considered as the curtain closer of the Spring Festival, falls on March 2 this year.
