Xiamen Airlines Flight MF8116, entitled United Dream, the world's first aircraft bearing the UN message of sustainable development, landed in Fuzhou, capital city of East China's Fujian on March 21.

The Boeing aircraft, delivered to Xiamen Airlines in Jan this year, is painted with a UN-sanctioned livery featuring the symbol of the 17-point Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and inscriptions in both Chinese and English.

Zhao Dong, president of Xiamen Airlines, said, while addressing the delivery ceremony, that the company is committed to sustainable development, especially after becoming a partner of the UN to promote the agenda in early 2017.

Some UN representatives stationed in China carried out a special trip to witness the moment.

Xiamen Airlines has been the first airline in the world to cooperate with the UN on promoting sustainable development. In February 2017, it signed a cooperation agreement with the UN to support SDGs implementation.

The UN General Assembly adopted the 17-point SDGs in 2015, which called for ending poverty, hunger and ensuring prosperity worldwide by 2030.

Founded in 1984 in Xiamen city, East China's Fujian province, Xiamen Airlines is one of the fastest developing airlines in China. With a fleet of 194 aircraft, mainly composed of Boeing 737s and 787s, Xiamen Airlines operates an extensive network of routes covering China, Asia, Europe, America and Oceania, with more than 350 domestic and international routes.
