Visitors from Taiwan now can enjoy free entry to scenic spots on Meizhou Island, the same benefit enjoyed by local residents.
The island is known for being the birthplace of the goddess Matsu who is widely worshiped in Taiwan. Statistics show that more than 300,000 people from Taiwan visit Meizhou Island to worship Matsu each year.
