An athlete delegation from the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone set off on Nov 14 for the Cross-Straits (Kinmen) Island Sports Game scheduled between Nov 14 and 18.

This year's event will include basketball, table tennis, and track and field events. The events will be held in Kinmen county, Taiwan, according to an official at the local sports bureau.

The Pingtan delegation consists of 60 athletes, with the youngest being 10-years-old and the eldest 70. It is the largest among all delegations. The group will take part in events including badminton, table tennis, basketball, tug-of-war, and track and field races.

In May, Kinmen county sent four invitations to Fujian province's Xiamen city, Dongshan county, Mawei district, as well as Pingtan. The event will promote sports communication between Fujian province and Taiwan.
