A delegation from Taiwan Pacific Construction Company visited Pingtan on Nov 27. Delegates and officials from Pingtan exchanged ideas on ecological construction, green industry development and other development-related issues.
Pingtan is like a blank sheet, its entire plan and construction starting from scratch. Pingtan has a precious development opportunity thanks to its rich coastline resources, according to Zhang Qiming, general manager of Taiwan Pacific Construction.
Chen Dongrong, deputy director of the administrative committee of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, introduced Pingtan's opening-up and development. He noted that Pingtan aims to strengthen cross-Straits exchanges and cooperation and provide a better development platform for companies and business people from Taiwan.
Pingtan is ready to become a common homeland after three years of preparation. It enjoys profound development potential thanks to privileged policies from the government.
Zhang hopes to cooperate with Pingtan on ecological and leisure projects. An ecological resort is first in line for development, followed by plans to build a department store and other merchandise projects. The company hopes to promote a comprehensive tourism industry sensitive to environmental protection and sustainable development.
With supportive policies from the central government, Pingtan's development has become a national strategy. Boasting rich resources, beautiful natural scenery and other development advantages, Pingtan is attracting more companies for investment and construction projects.
