The fourth Cross-Straits Calligraphers' Couplets Charity Sale will be held in Pingtan, an island county in Fujian province, on Jan 9, Pingtan Times reported.

The charity sale will be hosted by the All-China Cross-Straits Painting and Calligraphy Artist Association, the preparatory office of the Pingtan-Taiwan Merchants Association, Pingtan Xihang Group, Pingtan's Calligraphers' Association and Taiwan's Cross-Straits Business Express magazine.

All money raised in the charity sale will be donated to the Committee of Care for the Next Generation in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone to support struggling local students.

Cao Yuanzhang, initiator of the charity sale, said that famous Taiwan calligraphers – including Wu Jincheng, Lin Yunying and Feng Yumin – will be invited to the sale. He also hoped Pingtan citizens and entrepreneurs can take part in the sale to help students in need.
