A group headed by Lin Lide, deputy director of the Fujian Provincial Work Safety Bureau, kicked off an investigation Tuesday, May 7, on Pingtan's marine traffic and fishery production safety, Pingtan's official website reported.

The group dropped by a fishery team in Aodong town and a ferry management station in the township to inspect fishery production safety measures. They also paid visits to local ship-owners and a marine office for marine traffic safety.

Pingtan should beef up safety production supervision efforts and hold enterprises accountable, said Lin during his two-day stay in the county.
