The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, in Fujian province, will host another marathon on June 22, following the success of the First Taiwan-Pingtan Marathon Invitational Tournament on June 2.

Registration for the Cross-Strait Xingguang (Starlight) Marathon Tournament started on June 5 and ends on June 12. The event is open to individuals and groups between the ages of 15 to 69, and organizers will accept a maximum of 1,000 participants.

The event is divided into three categories: the full-marathon (42.2 kilometers), half-marathon (21.1 kilometers) and mini-marathon (5 kilometers). Organizers urge applicants to choose their category according to their level of fitness.
