The local public security bureau in Pingtan county, Fujian province, held a training course on Jan 1 on increasing safety awareness in the fireworks industry.

The lessons involved the laws governing consumer fireworks, and businesspeople took a test at the end of the course.

In addition, sources said that various government departments will carry out safety inspections at firework retailers.
