An entrepreneur from Taiwan is exploring the market prospects for jade vases in Pingtan county, Fujian province, after he signed an agreement during a seminar concerning start-ups for young people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, the Pingtan Times reported on Jan 12.
Yang Shen, a Taichung-based Feng Chia University graduate, took part in the event - held by Pingtan human resource professionals and a local agency – as a student representative, and he said he is interested in selling jade vases in Pingtan.
He also said jade vases are popular in Taiwan, and he would like to emulate this success in Pingtan.
This was Yang's first visit to Pingtan, and he praised the island county's preferential policies for Taiwan college graduates, adding that some of his former classmates plan to visit Pingtan to check out any possible business opportunities.
