Three electric-vehicle charging stations have sprung up in the urban district of Pingtan county with the aim of assisting members of the public who wish to recharge the batteries of their vehicles, the Pingtan Times reported on Feb 11.

The stations are located on Hongshan East Road, Tancheng South Road and Hongshan Middle Road.

The new charging stations boast rechargers that are compatible with all electric vehicles, and the cost for ten minutes of charging is set at one yuan, which can allow drivers of most electric bikes to travel a distance of 6 to 7 kilometers.

"The drivers of electric cars don't have to worry about if they carry rechargers. We provide all sorts of them. Even the four-wheeled electric vehicles can recharge here," said an employee of a local bike store.

Chen Meifang, a local resident, said that it is economic and convenient to recharge at the new stations.

And an employee said that the recharging process is six times faster than when using normal power devices. But he also suggested that people should not use the special charging service too often as it can affect the durability of the batteries.
