A cross-Straits youth innovation valley, sponsored by the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK), will be established in the Taiwan Innovation Park in Pingtan, Fujian province. It was announced at a forum on cross-Straits youth innovation and entrepreneurship on Nov 3.
The valley is intended to help young entrepreneurs across the Straits with their startup businesses by offering them guidance and technological and financial support. It is now seeking cooperation with other organizations to provide the entrepreneurs with more help.
Upon its inauguration, the valley signed cooperation agreements with six institutions such as an entrepreneurship training camp of Peking University, the RCCK Entrepreneur Association, the Taiwan International Cultural and Creative Association, and the Huacan Entrepreneurship Fund.
Officials said that those organizations will strongly support the young entrepreneurs in the valley. For instance, the Huacan Fund will provide them with financial support, while the training camp will hold lectures to teach them how to start their own businesses. They also said that they will do more to develop the valley and serve the entrepreneurs.
Li Aijun, director of the liaison department of the RCCK, explained that the valley will promote exchanges with young people across the Straits to help them realize their entrepreneurial dreams. Pingtan was chosen due to the county's status as an experimental zone for cross-Straits cooperation.
