A total of 115 participants of the Miss World Final visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone in East China's Fujian province on Dec 3, according to ptnet.cn.

The aim of the visit was to introduce the county's tourism resources to the world, and help the county reach its goal of becoming an international tourist island.

In order to gain a better understanding of Pingtan's landscapes, culture and customs, the beauties toured the county's major tourist sites including the Tannan Bay, Haitan Ancient City, and Aoqian Passenger Terminal. They also tasted local specialties and interacted with local residents during their two-day visit. After the tour, the girls said that they were impressed by the county's beautiful scenery.

Local authorities said that they wanted to enhance Pingtan's global image through such promotion and let more people all over the world know about the island and visit it.
