With the aim of getting a better understanding of Pingtan's tourism resources, a delegation consisting 165 travel agencies from Anhui, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia among other provinces and regions visited the county in Fujian province, on Dec 7.

They were invited by a local Fujian Haitan International Travel Agency.

Xue Bin, general manager of the host agency said that they aimed to introduce Pingtan's tourism resources to more people and attract travel agencies in other areas to expand businesses here. It will not only strengthen Pingtan's national influence but will also help reach its goal of becoming an international tourist island, said Xue.

After touring the county's major tourist sites, the delegates were impressed and saw its great potential in tourism development.

Kong Fei, deputy general manager of Anhui Jinlin International Travel Agency said that Pingtan's original ecology, particularly its offshore tourism resources appealed to him and he expected further cooperation with the county.

Wang Jinsong, general manaer of Jiaxing Shuntu International Travel Agency in Zhejiang province also showed a great interest in Pingtan's tourism market. Wang said that the county's geographical advantages as an island close to Taiwan, coupled with preferential policies from national and provincial governments will help it develop  better and faster in tourism.
