Fujian vice-governor Huang Qiyu led a group of provincial officers to the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) to learn about the zone's water conservancy and marine fishery progresses.
Huang went to see the operation of the "Pingtan Closure", an integrated customs supervision and management system covering the entire PCPZ and the construction of a floodway in Jinjingwan area. The vice-governor urged water resources officials to give strong support to the floodway project and ensure that it can be completed as soon as possible.
He also visited the Dongao Central Fishing Port and instructed the authorities to take advantage of the port to provide better services to local fisherman and promote transformation of traditional fishery and development of marine economy.
At the Island Research Center of the State Oceanic Administration, the vice-governor attended a meeting with research fellows and encouraged them to continue their research on marine ecology based on Pingtan's rich oceanic resources. He asked researchers to launch more exchange activities to promote further development of ocean research.
Huang also toured the landscape transformation project of Zhuyu Lake and suggested local authorities to do better in ecological planning so as to contribute to the county's urban construction.
