To introduce the county's splendid tourism resources to more people, the Pingtan tourism development bureau launched a tourism promotion campaign in the cities of Zhangzhou and Fuzhou, Fujian province, on Jan 23 and 24, according to ptnet.cn.

The promotion event included travel route recommendations, specialties displays, art performances, and creative culture and landscape exhibitions.

The performances in particular, featuring Pingtan's natural and cultural elements, attracted large audiences. The exhibitions presented the county's delicacies, beautiful scenery and souvenirs.

Some visitors said that they know Pingtan better through the promotion event and its tourism sites quite appeal to them.

Xue Liqi, an official with the tourism bureau explained that the event aimed to give people in other cities a better understanding of Pingtan's scenic spots, culture and customs, and urban construction, and increase its influence as an international tourist destination.
