Some 41 companies in Pingtan, Fujian province have benefited from the trial operation of an "all-in-one" inspection and quarantine certificate that started as of March 8, announced Pingtan entry-exit inspection and quarantine bureau on May 16.
Launched by the Fujian Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in Pingtan and Fuzhou, this new measure is the first of its kind in China.
The certificate, which integrates the previous multiple certificates into one, contains all the information required to go through the inspection and quarantine procedure. It is expected to make the application and approval procedures much simpler and greatly improve work efficiency.
Experts predicted that this new policy will help Fujian's foreign trade enterprises lower costs of 5 million yuan ($766,000) a year.
Pingtan has set up a service window to handle local companies' application of the all-in-one certificate at its Pingtan Closure building and Aoqian Port comprehensive service building respectively, according to local officials.
The officials explained that companies can apply for the certificate at the service window and will obtain it, once their applications get approved. And the applicants can complete the entire application procedures at one service window without going to different departments like before, which is a real time-saver.
