The Pingtan area of the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ)will soon be home to six Taiwan-funded construction enterprises, ptnet.cn reported on July 3.
Among the six enterprises, four have been granted business licenses and the other two are dealing with the registration procedures.
This is the result of a policy released on April 21, 2015, allowing setting up Taiwan-funded construction enterprises in Fujian FTZ and undertaking construction projects in the province.
The policy allowing Taiwan construction enterprises to expand their businesses in Pingtan can be traced back to July 2012, when Pingtan was the only area in Fujian to have the policy.
One of the beneficiaries of the 2015 policy is Fujian Rongmin Construction Engineering Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Taiwan's RSEA Engineering Corp. Gao Xiang, an engineer at the company, said that it is expected to have more business opportunities in Pingtan, and even the entire Fujian province, by establishing such a corporate entity.
