Residents in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province are eligible for new property right certificates as of July 6, the day the zone began to implement a unified real estate registration system as part of a national campaign for regulating the market.
The new certificates differ from the old ones in highlighting a two-dimensional code, which can be used to store or check details of the real estate.
The unified real estate registration system will not only help protect the legitimate interests of property owners, but promote the efficiency of government services, according to the staff of the Pingtan Real Estate Registration Center.
Local residents speak highly of the new registration system, saying that it enables them to conveniently complete all the registration procedures in only one department.
The old certificates will remain valid as long as owners do not sell their property or change the certificates' content, according to authorities.
The new ones will gradually be granted to property owners when ownership is transferred.
