The Taiwan Innovation Park in Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province has been selected as a cross-Straits youth entrepreneurship base, according a recent list released by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.
Inaugurated last August, the park is intended as a platform for young people from both sides of the Taiwan Straits to start up a business with low cost and convenience.
The park is designed to have a youth startup base, a technology company incubation center, and a cross-border e-commerce industrial zone, as well as other areas, and is expected to bring in creative and technology-backed cross-Straits startup teams.
To give startup teams a better working and living environment, the park is also equipped with good supporting facilities such as exhibition halls, practice bases, training centers, cultural and sports centers, canteens, and apartments.
A total of 143 companies, involved in various fields such as biotechnology, electronic information, equipment manufacturing, health management, e-commerce, financial services, cultural creation, and tourism service, had moved into the park by Aug 5.
The local government has issued a series of preferential policies in office space and funding to attract more young people from Taiwan.
