The 2016 National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week in Pingtan, Fujian province kicked off with an exhibition featuring some of the brightest young entrepreneurs from Taiwan and the mainland on the morning of Oct 12.

A total of 36 companies are showcasing their latest products and projects from fields as diverse as business services, information technology, culture and environmental protection at the exhibition, which will run until Oct 18.

More than 90 percent of the companies are based in Pingtan's Taiwan Innovation Park, the business incubator that is also hosting the entrepreneurship week, according to the event organizers.

The Pingtan government has invested in encouraging young talent to start business ventures in the city, offering a string of subsidies, discount-interest loans and other fundingsupport.
