Silian 166

Silian 166, named after its factory name and street number, is a creative industry zone and one of the industrial heritages of Hangzhou.

The factory was designed by former Soviet Union experts.

The factory is still operating but marked out 6,600 square meters for the Silian 166 creative industry zone. Like other creative zones, it contains visual design companies, artwork auction companies and art galleries.

How to get there: Take Bus K23 to the junction of Lishui Road and Zijing Road.

Loft49

Loft49 on the Hangyin Road is the first and most famous creative industry park hosting cultural design studios, IT workshops and fashion companies.

It used to be an old textile mill covering nearly 10,000 square meters. The height of the factory made it ripe for renovation, and steel structures were used to add floors and increase the space available.

Old pieces of machinery such as pump valves, pipelines and hoppers were retained.
