Out of the 1,000 richest people in China, 179 were born in Zhejiang, according to "Hurun the Richest People in China List" released in Beijing on October 13.
The Hainan Clearwater Bay 2009 Hurun Rich List, released by Hurun Research, ranks the 1,000 richest individuals in China. There are 130 USD billionaires despite the financial downturn.
Nearly 20% of those on the List were born in Zhejiang and are mostly males who started from scratch and launched real estate businesses years ago.
