Recently, according to the statistics released by Hangzhou Municipal Tourism Committee, from July, the inbound tourism market in Hangzhou stopped dropping and recovered. The market in July, August and September saw a growth of 2.5%, 8.4% and 10.3% respectively. Taiwan market became a substantial one, accounting 20% in total number of visitors received in the market.
Since the breakout of global financial crisis last year, the inbound tourism market in China witnessed a poor performance. However, since July this year, under the background of international economic recovery, the inbound tourism market in Hangzhou stopped dropping and welcomed a revival. Till the end of September, the total number of tourists received by the city reached 1.661 million, increasing 2.5%.
This year, Taiwan market became a major contribution. From January to September, tourists from Taiwan amounted 328,900, an increase of 8.5% and became the largest market in total volume and growth in the inbound tourism market.
