The West Lake Music Festival, launched by City Express and Hangzhou Magazine, brought out the music and entertainment on Oct 31 and Nov 1 at the grassland of Orioles Singing in the Willow.

Hangzhou has been the host of music festivals three times in the past two years, starting with the 1st West Lake Music Festival held last May.

A total of 16 bands performed in four groups non-stop from 2:00pm to 10:00pm. Popular Chinese rock bands like Agony Faith, together with rock singers Zheng Jun, Xie Tianxiao, Muma, Zhang Xuan and Taiwan singer Fan Xiaoxuan (Mavis Fan) came to the city and brought their brands of music.

Foreign bands from the US, France and Germany also performed, including American act Sugar Mama, On Halloween night, an audience of over 8,000 rocked to the various acts and celebrated under the festival’s slogan of "Do you want to have a special Halloween?"
