The third Sino-German Sports Symposium opened in Hangzhou of southeast China's Zhejiang Province on Nov 2, 2011.
Jointly sponsored by the General Administration of Sport of China and Federal Ministry of the Interior of Germany and hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Administration of Sport, the two-day symposium attracted a number of experts and scholars from both countries, who held discussions about such issues as sports management, the use of sports facilities and psychological support for elite athletes.
As an exchange program initiated by sports departments of the two governments, the symposium saw its first and second editions held in 2009 (Beijing, China) and 2010 (Bonn, Germany) respectively.
The symposium serves as a platform for interactive communication between experts and scholars from both sides, playing a positive role in helping promote further exchanges and cooperation between the sports circles in China and Germany.
