Cross-Straits commerce and trade cooperation zone breaks ground
Many officials from Chinese mainland and Chinese Taipei attended the work-commencement ceremony of the cross-Straits (Kunshan) commerce and trade cooperation zone, located in Kunshan city, in East China's Jiangsu province on Tuesday.

The ceremony was also well-attended by local representatives from Taiwan, including Huang Wenrong, Secretary-General of the Taiwan Trade Center; Hong Baochuan, executive member of the Taiwan federation of industries; Zhuang Bingjun, chief director for mainland affairs at the Taiwan Power Labor Union; Huang Zude, CEO of Taiwan industrial and commercial research commission; and Zhang Zhiyuan, director general of the labor union of Taiwan science & industrial area.

The Cross-Straits (Kunshan) commerce and trade cooperation zone, covering 3.65 sq km, aims to develop into the first platform for commodities from Chinese Taipei to the mainland. The zone will be split into five centers – the Taiwanese commodity trade center, the Taiwanese commodity exhibition center, the Taiwanese commodity distribution center, the customs bonded logistics center and the comprehensive service center.
