There was a Kunshan tourism conference in the Fleur de Chine Hotel, in Taiwan, on May 23, to also celebrate the opening of a branch of the Taiwan Art Academy, in Kunshan, Jiangsu province.
Taiwan Art Academy gave more than 20 artworks to the branch and, in early March, a group of Taiwanese painters, photographers and writers made a field trip to the ancient town of Zhouzhuang, where there will be a "Zhouzhuang Legends - Taiwanese artists paintings and photography" exhibition.
Some artists from Taiwan put on a display of Kunqu, one of the oldest forms of Chinese opera, at the conference, while painters from Kunshan and Taiwan Art Academies cooperated in painting a work called Zhouzhuang Town at the side of the Yangtze River.
Zhou Naixiang, the mayor of Suzhou, where Kunshan located, addressed the conference, as did Feng Yi, president of the Taiwan Art Academy, where there were more than 160 people taking part.
