The finished Shanghai-Nanjing inter-city railway will be put into operation during the Shanghai Expo in July.
There are 32 stations along the whole line, which begins at Shanghai Station, passes through Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou and Zhenjiang and ends in Nanjing. Stations include South Kunshan and Huaqiao, two stations in Kunshan city, Zhejiang province.
There are many stops and lots of trains, with intervals between some trains as short as three minutes.
With a maximum speed of 350 kilometers, it only takes one hour to travel from Shanghai to Nanjing in Jiangsu province.
The Shanghai-Nanjing inter-city railway was started in July 2008. It used non-ballast track, the world's most advanced track technology. The non-ballast track reduces maintenance, lessens dust and and raises the speed of the train.
