On Jan 31, the overall plan for the Cross-Straits (Kunshan) Trade Cooperation Zone was demonstrated in Huaqiao International Service Business Park.

Guan Aiguo, Secretary of Kunshan Municipal Party Committee, and other official members presented at the meeting.

The meeting first listened to the report on the overall plan of the Cross-Straits (Kunshan) Trade Cooperation Zone. The plan spearheads the development of the zone with “five centers” and “nine functions”, includes cultural elements, and drives overall upgrading of the industry.

Guan pointed out that the planning should be clear and the overall effects should be evaluated comprehensively. The planning and construction of the cooperation zone shall be further improved and optimized in the general layout, function matching, transport and environmental protection.

Guan stressed that all related departments should strengthen communication and cooperation and closely combine the planning and cooperation of the zone with requests from upper-level authorities.

Lu Jun expressed that efforts should be made to further raise the overall level of the planning of the cooperation zone, incorporate more urban elements, and accelerate the construction of the cooperation zone under the guidance of overall planning.

Leaders from Kunshan, including Huang Yong, Han Wei, Xia Xiaoliang, and representatives from Xiamen Municipal Commission of Development and Reform put forward opinions and suggestions at the meeting.
