Shanghai Jiao Tong University held a ceremony to mark the opening of a new EMBA program in modern services, on April 14.
The program is tailored for corporate executives at the Huaqiao International Service Business Park, in Kunshan city, Jiangsu province.
Liu Tianming, the deputy head of the university's Continuing Education School, explained that the program could give a boost to the park's enterprise development and help give it a more global perspective.
Tang Naixin, a Huaqiao Development Area Administration official added that it is important that the business park develop a talent strategy if it wants to become a model demonstration area. Tang also said that university students need to be aware of the importance of corporate branding and corporate innovation and can learn more about corporate management practices and capital operations through the program.
This is the park's first EMBA program and a part of Kunshan's "Talent Zone" trial. The new program has 51 students, all from the park's modern service sector and 42 of them in general manager positions or above.
The EMBA course runs to April 2013 and cover five areas-corporate strategies, corporate management, capital operations, marketing management, and leadership,for a total of 144 credits.
