Public fiscal revenue at Huaqiao International Service Business Park got off to a flying start in 2014.

The park saw public fiscal revenue reach 358 million yuan ($58.32 million) in January, an increase of 108 million yuan and an increase of 43.51 percent year-on-year, ahead of other areas in the city of Kunshan, South China’s Jiangsu province.

The traditional industries in the park have maintained energetic development this year, which has attributed to the growth of the park’s public fiscal budget revenue. However, thanks should also be given to the park’s modern service industry.

For instance, Dell Information Technology (Kunshan) Co – a modern service enterprise established in Huaqiao in April of 2012 – saw an increase of 15.31 million yuan in the first month of 2014 in terms of public fiscal budget revenue compared with the same period last year. Huaqiao’s other modern industry businesses also got off to a good start in 2014.

In recent years, the modern industry has taken a leading role in Huaqiao International Service Business Park. The added value of the industry amounted to 12.2 billion yuan in the past year, up 28.2 percent year-on-year.

In 2014, Huaqiao will introduce a batch of projects that feature large investment, considerable brand influence and good development potential from key target areas like Shanghai and Taiwan. It plans to speed up the construction of a Taiwan-invested financial enterprises cluster, a back-up area for Shanghai’s financial center, and a regional headquarters cluster by expanding the whole industrial chain and pushing it forward.

The added value of Huaqiao’s modern service industry seeks to achieve 20 percent growth this year.
