Inner Mongolia is maintaining the largest clean energy base in China, according to nmgnews.com.
In the first four months of this year, figures for electricity generation, wind power installation and power delivered outside of the region reached kilowatt hour totals of 105.61 million, 24.53 million and 41.6 billion respectively, accounting for around seven, 19 and 16 percent of the national totals.
In 2015, more than 20 of China’s Top 500 enterprises were energy sector companies established in Inner Mongolia.
The region started to upgrade its energy industry in early 2013, making the clean energy base one of its top priorities.
