With the 23rd ITTF-Asian Table Tennis Championships just around the corner, the official medal designs were released on March 19 in host city Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province.
The medals have been inlaid with jade from Longling county in Yunnan province which features a unique yellow tinge to the traditional jade green.
The jade is named Huang Long Yu, after its color and place of origin.
A total of 86 medals have been produced for the eight-day tournament which gets underway on April 9.
The copper medals, weighing 180 g each, are coated in gold and silver, and measure 70 mm in diameter, and are 7 mm thick. On the back of the medals are two Huang Long Yu rings, measuring 50 mm and 26 mm respectively.
