Yingtan city lies in the northeast of Jiangxi province, in the middle and lower reaches of Xinjiang River. It is bordered by Shangrao within the province and neighbors Fujian province in the southeast.
Lying in the northwest of Jiangxi province, Yichun city borders Jiujiang to the north in the neighborhood of the capital city of Jiangxi, Nanchang to the east and is bounded on the west by Hunan province.
Xinyu lies in the west-central region of Jiangxi province, neighboring Yichun and Ji'an. The capital city of the province, Nanchang, is about 150 kilometers (93 miles) east of Xinyu.
Shangrao City is located in the northeast of Jiangxi province close to the borders with the provinces of Zhejiang in the east and Anhui in the north, while Fujian province lies to the south. The city's immediate neighbors within Jiangxi are Jiujiang, Nanchang, Fuzhou and Yingtan.
Pingxiang is located in the western part of Jiangxi province, bordered on the north and the west by Hunan province, with a distance of 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Changsha. It is 280 kilometers (174 miles) from the provincial capital, Nanchang.
As the capital city of Jiangxi province located in south central China, Nanchang literally means “a prosperous south part of China”. Nanchang is located 130 km south of the Yangtze River and is situated on the right bank of the Gan River just below its confluence with the Jin River and some 40 km southwest of its discharge into Poyang Lake.
The city of Jiujiang is situated near the northern border of Jiangxi province. It borders the Yangtze River to the north, Poyang Lake to the east and picturesque Mount Lushan to the south. Jiujiang in Chinese means "nine rivers".
Jingdezhen situated on the eastern bank of the Yangtse River, and in the north-east of Jiangxi Province of China and neighbours Anhui.The city center area is located in the north-east of the Poyang Lake Plain.
