Updated: 2010-03-05

On March 1, the Shenyang Hui Shan Agricultural Technology Development Area (SHSATDA) was officially named Liaoning Hui Shan National Agricultural Technology Park by six ministries, including the Ministry of Science & Technology, signifying that the area was promoted to a state-level program.

At present, 228 agricultural processing enterprises are stationed in SHSATDA, of which there are eight of the world’s top 500 enterprises, 14 leading state agricultural industrialization enterprises, 13 Chinese brand-name enterprises, and nine famous national enterprises. In addition to these, seven major leading industries also convene there, including dairy processing, livestock and poultry processing, foodstuff processing, etc.

Over 600 products of 22 categories produced at SHSATDA have been exported to 28 countries, including the United States, Japan, South Korea, Russia, and various countries in Southeast Asia, among others. By 2015, the park aims to quadruple its 2008 figures in major economic indicators, with a GDP of 300 billion yuan and a total output value of 100 billion yuan for the intensive processing of agricultural products.
