Qingdao trade fair opens Oct 29

The 2010 Qingdao International Agricultural Products Trade Fair will be held from Oct 29 to Oct 31 at Shandong International Agricultural Products Exhibition & Exchange Center, the Shandong Agriculture Committee announced.
The fair will be co-hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, P. R. China and the People’s Government of Shandong, and presented jointly by the Qingdao municipal people’s government, Shandong Economic and Information Technology Committee, Shandong department of commerce, Shandong agricultural department, the department of fishery and ocean of Shandong and Shandong Supply and Sales Cooperative Union.
The fair will be divided into three sections: an exhibit section, economic and technical cooperation and trade negotiation section, and photo exhibit.
One exhibition area will showcase the development of Shandong’s agricultural economy. Another area will feature exhibits from Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Europe and America.
The economic and technical cooperation and trade negotiation section will consist of four parts: investment cooperation, an investment and trade fair, an exhibition of on-line trade, and a presentation conference and on-site demonstration focusing on new technology.
The photo exhibit mainly focus on the development achievements of Shandong agricultural economy.
Already, the fair has attracted 676 exhibitors and 778 exhibition booths. Of these, 73 booths were ordered by 56 non-mainland and overseas enterprises, and 602 booths were requested by 521 domestic exhibitors. Among the non-mainland enterprises, 45 are from Taiwan, five from Korea, four from Japan, one from Hong Kong and Macao, and one from Malaysia. The fair committee said 100 purchasing companies or individuals will be represented at the fair.
Since 2005, the annual fair in Shandong has attracted 2,800 enterprises, 622 purchasing groups and more than 1 million visitors. The fair has recorded a trading volume of 1.75 billion yuan and a contractual trading volume of 11.42 billion yuan. Fair participants since 2005 have signed 22 investment projects and attracted 490 million yuan in contractual investment capital.
